CAVERNA MAGICA 2007/8 - LIVE!

The current live project refers to the power of the legendary “Vollenweider-Groove”, which has already left the worlds most renowned concert halls of New York, Vienna, London, Paris, Rome, Tokyo, Sydney... in a state of gentle trance.
VOLLENWEIDER•07 - live
The key elements: the signature sound of Andreas Vollenweider’s harps
The groove elements: extensive, explosive percussion! A true magician’s laboratory; anything from enormous frame drums to timpani, from tubular bells to bow and arrow, rocks, bones, brooms of dry grass, water drops, jembé, backbeats... including the most current creative technologies such as loops, beats and samples...
The wind elements: exotic & ethnic wind instruments, the entire family of the saxophones, bass clarinet, bass flutes, whistles, accordion, vocals...
Additional sound elements: keyboards, guitars, samplers, theatrical sound effects
In summary: these four musicians have found ways to successfully outwit any possible physical limitations of a smaller ensemble! A treat for the ears and the eyes, as well as the heart!
VOLLENWEIDER•07 - the program
CAVERNA MAGICA “continuum” The program is based on the legendary Vollenweider production CAVERNA MAGICA. 2007, twenty-five years later, the adventure continues. A new expedition is exploring the depth of the mystical labyrinth and lets us discover new tunnels, galleries and halls. Through theatrical sound effects as well as original visual effects the entire auditorium is transformed into the CAVERNA MAGICA.
And like in all Vollenweider performances, wit and humour are essential elements.
Musically, the program consists of a selection of the key songs of his work, as well as new music and spontaneous interaction of the protagonists. CAVERNA MAGICA “continuum” does not only show the timelessness of this music, but also illustrates, how the new and contemporary context is able to newly fascinate and touch the broad listenership, through universality and an enchanted otherworldyness.
The most significant qualities of CAVERNA MAGICA “continuum” are dynamics and drama: from infernal thunder to soft whispering, from rolling, hypnotic grooves to ethereal 3D sound scapes.
VOLLENWEIDER•07 – essential sound design

For good reason, Andreas Vollenweider is highly respected as one of the first pioneers of sound design. It is the very same sound team since over 25 years, which will also transform CAVERNA MAGICA “continuum” into a feast for all audiophiles.
